IT'S GONNA GET MESSY
Finances Are Messy
Luke 6:38 · 1 Timothy 6:10 · Matthew 6:20-21 · Proverbs 21:5
Listen first.
Fill in the key word, then write only what you want to remember. Your notes save automatically.
LUKE 6:38
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.”
“For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Money is a tool, but it is also a powerful revealer. It exposes our priorities, fears, trust, and what has become too important to surrender.
Scripture for point one+
1 Timothy 6:10
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.”
Matthew 6:20-21
“Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven… For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Financial pressure is real. Scripture does not deny hardship; it teaches us to walk through it without letting fear become our master.
Scripture for point two+
Proverbs 21:5
“The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.”
Proverbs 15:22
“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”
Giving is not about funding a needy God. It is about forming a faithful people with surrendered hearts.
Scripture for point three+
Psalm 24:1
“The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it.”
Haggai 2:8
“The silver is mine and the gold is mine.”
WHEN WE GIVE, WE ARE SAYING
- God, You are my source.
- God, I trust You more than I trust what I can hold.
- God, I will not let money rule me.
- God, what You have placed in my hands belongs to You.
A closed hand cannot receive what the Lord wants to give.
